Joachim has spent 31 years in the automotive and railway industries including 9 years as member of the Group Executive Board (GEB) of Adtranz and Bombardier Transportation, responsible for a business worth €2Bn
A Senior Executive who has worked within global businesses in both technical and business responsibilities.
He has worked for Daimler Benz in the IT, production, organisation, international projects and strategy areas for 22 years, finally at senior vice president level. On behalf of Daimler Benz as a member of the GEB he managed the Adtranz merger (between the AEG and ABB railway businesses) to create the world’s biggest railway manufacturing company. He was responsible for manufacturing and technology and later on for the €2Bn “Systems and Components” business. He has experience amongst others in strategy, contract negotiations, organisation, IT, procurement, project management, engineering and manufacturing. He retired from these roles in 2004 to study philosophy and was awarded his Masters degree in summer 2009.
Now working as a consultant and lecturer.
Joachim works as a consultant in the fields of restructuring, change management, training and coaching. Furthermore he is lecturing at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences in Innovation and Technology Management as well as at the Berlin Free University for Philosophy with a special emphasis on business ethics.
Joachim supports charity organizations like “Das diakonische Werk Berlin” as “Jobpate” (helping unemployed people to get back into jobs) He lives in Berlin, Germany with his wife and has two grown-up children His hobbies include reading, travelling, hiking and doing all kind of sports. He is member of a gospel choir in Berlin
