Chris Wood

An experienced executive and non-executive board director
Chris has over thirty five years’ experience in global corporates, followed by six years of running his own business whilst at the same time working in a senior leadership level in the public sector. Chris held international executive posts in sales, sales support, logistics and corporate affairs for Johnson &Johnson Ltd, the most diverse healthcare company in the world. Following his corporate career, he was a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Board of Directors of an NHS Foundation Trust running an acute hospital and two community hospitals in the East Midlands.

He has led organisations and teams in sales and marketing, service and manufacturing operations in the UK and overseas. Chris is Malcolm Baldridge trained in quality and process management and was a worldwide assessor for quality within J&J for ten years. In addition he has held leadership positions in the NHS and in the third sector in charitable and community organisations. Chris is a director of a coaching and consultancy where he leads on leadership, executive coaching and change management.
Supporting organisations and individuals to reach their potential
As Director of CoachHouse Consulting he works with Cape Town University to develop African leaders across the continent and similarly in the Middle East for a major retailer in Bahrain. His client group includes NHS Boards, Odgers Berndtson, GHX and Johnson & Johnson, BMMI and Unipart Health Consulting. Chris is also a Trustee of a number of charities including Burton Albion Community Trust, where le leads on health and social inclusion and is Chair of Abbots Bromley Sports Association, a social inclusion and community project in Staffordshire.
Personal
An Associate member of The Royal College of Medicine, The Leaders Club. Chris is a proud West Countryman but has lived in rural Staffordshire since 1982. He is a widower and lives with his partner and his beloved cat. His hobbies include playing cricket, golf and tennis. He also enjoys cooking, travelling, with a dabble at painting in between.
