Hilary Douglas CB

Hilary has held Board roles in six major Government Departments, including the Treasury and the Department for Business. In these roles, she has had lead responsibility for the management of corporate resources, leadership development, supplier management, internal services and infrastructure.
A highly experienced board level executive with substantial change management experience, and a second career as an executive coach
During her career, Hilary has frequently led on setting up new Government bodies, closing down others, and managing the consequences of mergers and demergers. She led on major projects with significant change implications, such as large scale downsizing, relocations and projects to transform the working environment. She worked with suppliers to redesign services to match reducing resources. In all of these cases, relationship management and stakeholder engagement was vital to success. She trained as a coach some years ago to support her change management role, and has now left the civil service to coach executives in both private and public sector organisations.

A graduate of New Hall, Cambridge. Qualified as a coach and as a Myers Briggs assessor. Fellow of the RSA and Member of the Company of Information Technologists Accredited Gateway Review Team leader for the Office of Government Commerce. Hilary lives in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey and is married with two adult sons. Her hobbies include European languages and history, travel and walking.
