Joan has 14 years’ experience founding and growing a classes-based fitness brand, Frame, in London.
With highly relevant education & hands on experience
She is a disruptor in the fitness industry launching innovate product and pricing to a stale industry. She has led the financing of six locations via bank debt, angel investment and PE investment over the 11 years, as well as being operational from build and execution, marketing and product development. Prior to starting her business, she was in marketing and advertising for 4 years across experience and digital media. Joan has a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University (NZ), double major in Finance and Marketing a very relevant springboard into being an entrepreneur.

As CEO, she leads a management team including finance director, marketing, technology, people and operations, which provide 1400 classes per week, with 70,000 bookings across 6 locations with a workforce of circa. 300 freelance, part and full time.

Navigated covid while being closed for 12 months. Specifically scenario planning, strategy, risk management and financial recovery.

Joan is originally from New Zealand but lives in London and has young children.

Her hobbies include fitness of all sorts, camping, outdoors, house plants…anything that gets you moving and making the most of life.
